Our administration team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our school. Comprising dedicated professionals with expertise in various domains, they oversee daily operations, student affairs, and curriculum coordination. This dynamic group also works collaboratively to support teachers, students, and parents, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

The Naskapi Education Committee, born from the Northeastern Québec Agreement, has been a cornerstone for nearly 40 years in ensuring that funds dedicated to educating Naskapi beneficiaries are used effectively. This dedicated team of six includes five elected members and a Coordinator who serves as both the Principal of the Naskapi School and the committee’s secretary. Together, they play a vital role in shaping educational strategies and allocating resources that directly impact the community’s learning and development.
The NLS works in close collaboration with academic advisers and counsellors in academic training to ensure that all Naskapi beneficiaries studying outside of the Schefferville region, and who are funded by the NEC, receive the support they need to be successful as students—whether at the adult education, vocational training, or college and university levels.
Our non-teaching staff members play a crucial role in supporting the holistic development and well-being of our students at JSMS. From teaching assistants who provide invaluable classroom support to academic learning counselors who guide students through their educational journeys, our team includes psychoeducators, counselors, special education teachers, speech language therapists, social rehabilitation officers, and social workers.
Just like our administration team, our non-teaching staff believes in collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and students to address individual needs, provide emotional and academic support, and ensure a safe and respectful environment where all students can thrive. Their dedication and expertise make a big difference in the overall success and positive experience for our school community.
